Getting Free Transunion Credit Reports
Transunion, Equifax, and Experian are the three major credit bureaus. While there are many similarities between the data on all three of your credit reports, oftentimes one credit report will have different information than another. For example, your credit score could be 20 points higher with Transunion than it is with Experian. This can prove quite substantial, especially if you are on the border of credit types, as you may qualify as having good credit with one company, but only fair credit with another.
At transunion.com, consumers can view their credit reports and scores, and dispute inaccuracies online or by phone. Many times, it takes more than one attempt to correct an inaccuracy on a credit report. In some cases, it can take months. Transunion offers access to credit reports for a $12.95 monthly fee via the website TrueCredit.com. Transunion does not offer a free trial to the True Credit monitoring service. However, if you are looking to avoid the $12.95 fee charged by Transunion at TrueCredit.com, you can get access to all three of your credit reports and scores for free from Privacy Matters.
Privacy Matters offers a free seven day trial of their credit monitoring service which can be cancelled anytime. This is currently the best option for consumers interested in seeing not only their Transunion credit report and score, but all of their scores for free. For more information, visit Privacy Matters.
