Additional Information about Low Interest Credit Card Offers Although interest rates are near historic lows, many credit card companies remain reluctant to lend money to qualified borrowers at low interest rates. However, many credit card companies are still offering good deals on 0% APR credit cards. Unfortunately, there is a catch to most low APR credit card offers. Nearly every credit card advertises the lowest interest rate they offer. This rate is generally reserved for individuals with excellent credit. Those who do not fit into the excellent credit category may be approved for a credit card, but offered a higher interest rate. Oftentimes, this interest rate can be as much as twice the lowest available rate.
When you apply for a low interest credit card, examine the terms and conditions of the credit card application closely. There, you will find complete details on available rates. As always, the devil is in the details. The same holds true for 0% APR credit card offers. Some credit cards offer 0% interest rates for a full year. Other credit cards offer a 0% for up to 1 year. With a card that offers a 0% rate for up to 1 year, you may be approved, but only granted a 0% rate for as little as 6 months. Obviously, this can be a huge problem, especially if you are doing a 0% balance transfer. Again, you can avoid this issue by carefully examining the fine print.
