SAVE MONEY ON GAS WITH A GAS CREDIT CARD

With gas prices now reaching all-time highs and the summer driving season upon us, gas credit cards are once again providing one of the best ways to cut down on gas spending.  For many, there is a great deal of confusion on this subject.  This stems from the fact that your local Exxon or Citgo will offer you a store use only gas card that offers savings, but charges exorbitant interest rates of up to 25%.  These credit cards, which can only be used at a specific gas station, are the only gas cards many people are aware of, and their high interest rates essentially offset the savings they offer at the pump.  Plus, the fact that they can only be used at one gas station makes them all the more inconvenient.

Fortunately, there is an alternative.  Credit card issuers such as Discover and Chase offer credit cards that can be used anywhere and offer as much, if not more, savings at the pump.  For example, the Discover Open Road credit card offers 5% savings on gas purchased at any gas station, as well as a 0% interest rate on purchases and balance transfers for 1 year.  With this card, you not only save on gas, but you can also save up to 1% on all other purchases you make using your card.

Similarly, the Chase Perfectcard offers consumers 6% savings on gas the first 90 days they use their card, as well as 3% on all gas afterwards.  Unfortunately, this credit card does not offer a 0% APR on purchases, and thus does not quite provide the same savings as the Discover Open Road card.  Below you will find leading gas credit card offers that can save you hundreds of dollars at the pump and from 0% interest savings.  Compare gas cash back credit card deals and apply online to start saving money on gas now.
